well what steve had prematurely slated as a "nice big mess", actually turned out to be one of the better moments of the year. steve, paula, fets & i went down to the concert for toronto and had a great time - not so much at the concert, but after. here's my two cents about the concert - with a rating on their performance and just some gibberish i've thrown in for good taste: (note that the rating of performers at the skydome is give or take 1 up or down since we only saw them on the jumbotron-thing)
1 - Swollen Members: n/a
- arrived late, missed hearing how moka only always brings it home...yah, not a big loss...actually it worked out to my advantage... isn't their latest song w/Nelly Furtado utter, utter crap, NEXT
2 - Glenn Louis: 2 out of 10
- oh my god mr. louis will you please shut the fuck up! he's trying to have sing-a-longs with an audience that looked as confused and blank as mr louis was when no one bought his album...whiney, irriating, and let's not forget the constant "ladies....holler back"....what?!?!?. the best part of his performance has the fact that the static on the speakers were louder than his voice....he has a new album coming up...care as much as i do. NEXT
3 - Sum 41: 6 out of 10 (-/+)
- with the demise of teenaged-pop rock (blink, sum and whatever much still plays), sum 41 seemed to be a band that has been kicking around for decades, they just seem so old, like something my parents listened to or something...singles were tap-able, donald lost some weight, and mr lead singer man though it would be delightful to swear at any chance he got...whatever - NEXT
4 - Remy Shand: 4 out of 10
- i liked rocksteady....and you're a scary looking man...i wanted to burn that fregging hat you were wearing, but i remember i saw your hair on one of your video...umm, i guess it's better you keep it on....NEXT
5 - Our Lady Peace: 7 out of 10 (-/+)
- whatever, they were ok....sung there songs...pranced on the stage...not bad, just forgettable...NEXT
6 - Jann Arden : 10 out of 10
- i love you ms arden...i mean...god, you were brilliant....insensitive was just haunting, i would die for you (w. Sarah McLachlan) was astounding...you're absolutely hilarious and sounded great...you made me blush in my seat! i feel like a 45 year old divorced mother of three living on my ranch in calgary...NEXT
